From spending a lot of my pre-teen years learning HTML to create the perfect layout for my Myspace page, and using Photoshop to make edits for the Jonas Brothers fansite that I ran (oh yeah, you know it; #noshame), to changing my AIM screen name every couple years, and joining every new social media outlet that made a debut on the internet (from Friendster, to Xanga, to Tumblr, to Twitter, etc.), I have always been pretty involved in social media. It has allowed me to establish my creativity, connect with others, gain inspiration from a variety of sources, and most importantly, express myself.
My fondness for the media industry continued to grow, and I went on to receive my Associate of Arts degree in Communications. From the beginning of my college career up until receiving my degree, I had the opportunity to work with 2 Top 40 Bay Area radio stations; one in which I was a Programming Intern and soon got hired as a Promotions Team member, and the other in which I held the title of Promotions Assistant. Both of these jobs taught me how to run social media for a business, create content for a website, network with people to establish affiliates, and connect with others on a more personal level, all while being able to “be the face of the brand” (and meeting some really dope celebrities along the way!!). Through these jobs, I gained a newfound appreciation for the power of technology and social media, and the way I was able to use my voice to carry out a vision.
I created this blog as a way to document and share different aspects of my life, including my travel experiences, my relationship, personal stories/insight, music that inspires me, beauty & fashion trends I’m currently obsessed with, and everything in between. This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and between working & trying to get my Dental Hygiene degree, I’m excited to finally have the opportunity to start this journey.
